English term

transverse, bending and torsional forces

English to French Tech/Engineering Mechanics / Mech Engineering
The pipeline must be laid in a such way that transverse, bending and torsional forces are avoided.

The text is about valves (soupapes in French). I have some problems with these forces. I have found that "transverse forces" can be translated as "force de dérapage" or "effort tranchant" - which one is better in this context? As far as other two forces are concerned, I have no idea. Is anyone familiar with these terms?
