"Midi" is a compression technique for music on the web. However, MIDI files seem to work with music only and no vocals. Other less used file type for sound compression is WAV.
MP3, though is the technology of streaming music on the web. This is very good and sounds like radio. As a matter of fact many radio stations now can also be heard on the web, using this technology.
