Based on a review of the site drainage plan (dated 2000), storm water run-off from the roads and areas surrounding the production and ancillary buildings are discharged without prior treatment into the River at 6 discharge points. Inflating plugs are reportedly installed to prevent release in the river in case of accidental spillage but it relies on a human intervention potentially causing a delay. In addition, stormwater may get contaminated via runoff on paved areas.
