OK, so now we have your other question, the missing context makes it clear this is talking about 2 different situations for handling the customer's stock.
As I understand this, we must be in some kind of 'push' rather than 'pull' situation, where instead of the customer contacting the supplier to replenish stocks, it is the supplier who manages the customer's stocks and supplies them afresh when necessary.
Have I got that about right?
