English term

Amsterdam Ordnance Datum

English to French Other Geology
Hi all,

I am translating a documentation containing this expression "Amsterdam Ordnance Datum" in the following sentence

The entire city has been struck by a massive flood; the water must be at least 4 meters above the Amsterdam Ordnance Datum.

Although I understand the meaning, I can't find a proper translation for "Amsterdam Ordnance Datum"

My attempt:

Thanks for your help

Normaal Amsterdams Peil

agree Tony M : Yes, and we did have a question just the other week that cross-referred to this as well. / Me too! I guess sea-level is quite important there ;-)
