Yes, I see what you mean now... Taking the thing as a whole, it seems that each figure has 2 (or 3) possible states:
I 0 = [first option] or
I 1 = [second option]
I 2 = [third option]<br>
Can't for the life of me really imagine what 'I' stands for, unless it's something like 'Index', for example.

This is a description of a naming convention. The author allowed himself a little licence : 1', 2' etc s/b first digit, secons digit etc.

So second digit tells the "material of the head I 0" ...

light alloy Well, you see, the extra context does help after all!<br><br>Here's a guess!<br><br>Since UNI 3049 appears to deal with metallurgy, I have a suspicion that this is meant to be 'light alloy' — presumably, the material from which this object (you still haven't told us what it is!) is made.<br><br>My guess is that someone translated incorrectly from the source language 'alloy' (akin to united, combined, allied = league!) as 'league', and got the word order wrong (a very common translation error) to make it 'alloy light' instead of 'light alloy' as it should be.<br><br>There, how's that for Sherlock Holmes detective work on a sleepy Sunday afternoon?!

Good English? Julie, can you confirm the provenance of this EN? On the face of it, cryptic as it is, there seems to be some doubt that it may be non-native EN? I suspect the term you are asking may possibly not be correct in the first place. Also, is it UK or US, and what is the overall context of the document you're working on?
