English term

Convener

English to French Social Sciences Education / Pedagogy Diploma
On the bottom of a South African diploma that I'm translating it's written "convener" as in "University convener" and "Course convener". I've never seen the word before in this context and don't know whether it's particular to the South African education system or not.

My dictionary gives "président" as a possible translation, but I don't know whether that would be suitable translation here or not.

Can anybody help?
TIA

Enseignant responsable / Convenor: Pierre-Yves Le Cam
Nombre d'heures d'étude / Student study time 1h TD par semaine + 2 heures d'étude personnelle

neutral FX Fraipont (X) : that's a lecturer ... // that's still a lecturer, not a "convener".

Thanks, but as far as I can see none of these definitions suit my context.
