Note from asker:
I think you're right Caroline. Thanks for your comments & help. |

: Why "Augustine's Laws"? What has this question got to do with aerospace?//If it meant anything that specific, it wouldn't just say "rule-busting". I think you failed to properly read and understand the website you found.

As I said, the question seems to be related to the link mentionned about aerospace. Please kindly remove your offensive comment.

: the way you present it, it would mean "to overcome limitations imposed by some laws of physics" // don't think that it's what they had in mind.

Comment: "Merci Caroline.

as if busting rules (enfreindre les règles) could not be positive in business. That's the whole idea behind disruptive approaches

: unfortunately, voice intonations are absent in writing, so this would be misinterpreted as giving it a negative connotation.

Discussion
How much these rules really needed or not to be "busted" is another matter (see Uber & similar ...)
Usually, we tend to think that 'obeying the rules is a good thing to do" — but in some contexts, 'breaking free of the rules' may be seen positively: like when marketing a new product: "We started by throwing away the rule-book, and this enabled us to design this innovative product"
