"Liner" in this sense is a soft metal insert which separates the turbine form the planetary gear input shaft. If your diagram supports this ( and it should) them my earlier translation should be "villebrequin" and not "Carter". Other words for "Planetary gear carrier" are "Hub" and "axle".
