Contexte général : Rapport d'expertise dans le cadre d'un accident survenu sur un poids lourd (incendie etc). Pour info le poids lourds est constitué d'une partie dite "tracteur" + d'une remorque articulée réfrigérée.

"Shaft and Wheel Assembly:
The turbine wheel was covered in wet, non-burnt oil. There was a heavy rub to the blades from contact with the turbine housing profile. All the ***wheel tips*** (the larger diameter) had been totally worn away (more than 9.4-mm of material through a length of over 14-mm)."

"Piston Ring turbine end:
The turbine end piston ring was missing. It was evident
that it had been originally correctly in place. Sufficient axial wear had occurred, to both the turbine ***wheel tips*** and the compressor wheel bore, after the compressor wheel hub failure, to expose the ring outside its’ bore.
