"Preset" hier onvertaald laten? Als je met "vooraf ingesteld" vertaalt wordt het zoiets als "druk om de vooraf ingestelde punten in te stellen", en dat loopt natuurlijk niet. Suggesties?

When entering new questions, KudoZ askers are given an opportunity* to classify the difficulty of their questions as 'easy' or 'pro'. If you feel a question marked 'easy' should actually be marked 'pro', and if you have earned more than 20 KudoZ points, you can click the "Vote PRO" button to recommend that change.
How to tell the difference between "easy" and "pro" questions:
An easy question is one that any bilingual person would be able to answer correctly. (Or in the case of monolingual questions, an easy question is one that any native speaker of the language would be able to answer correctly.)
A pro question is anything else... in other words, any question that requires knowledge or skills that are specialized (even slightly).
Another way to think of the difficulty levels is this: an easy question is one that deals with everyday conversation. A pro question is anything else.
When deciding between easy and pro, err on the side of pro. Most questions will be pro.
* Note: non-member askers are not given the option of entering 'pro' questions; the only way for their questions to be classified as 'pro' is for a ProZ.com member or members to re-classify it.

volgens de definitie zijn het allemaal PRO-vragen :-)

Ik ben het dan ook niet eens met Gerard wanneer hij citeert (?) als "... that any bilingual person would be able to answer correctly" (zo staat het volgens mij nergens - de vragensteller moet namelijk een niet-vertaler zijn EN die tweetalige persoon mag geen woordenboek gebruiken :-). En al helemaal niet wanneer hij dat nog verder afzwakt door vertalers met woordenboeken erbij te halen...
Sommige vragen van vertalers zijn inderdaad wel érg gemakkelijk te beantwoorden, maar dan kun je hooguit een opmerking maken over "goh, had je nou zelf niet even op wikipedia kunnen kijken". Een non-PRO vraag wordt het daarmee nog niet.

Zoals ik het begrijp, is het verschil PRO/non-PRO niet hetzelfde als het verschil moeilijk/gemakkelijk. Gelukkig maar, anders krijg je steeds ellenlange discussies (ja maar deze term staat in het woordenboek/staat op wikipedia/kent mijn suffe buurman ook).

De algemene regel is: An easy (non-PRO) question is one that any bilingual person would be able to answer correctly. Ik zou dat zelf willen afzwakken naar 'iedere vertaler met een woordenboek'. Als ik een gemakkelijk woord zie staan met de vermelding non-PRO ga ik vaak niet eens kijken. Je kunt je vragen beter met PRO labelen: jij krijgt dan meer respons en wij meer punten. Als je al te gemakkelijke vragen zou stellen, stemmen we je heus wel de amateurhoek in :-)
