English term

tabs

English to Danish Bus/Financial Computers: Hardware manufacture of computer components
Not sure what is meant by this tabs - here are two contexts:

The only American company of these is the xxx, which makes both xxx and xxx at its tabs in the U.S., China, Singapore, and elsewhere.

xxx also has two more large-scale tabs in the works, doubling its facilities.

Discussion

Thomas T. Frost Jun 27:
Plants It must be plants, factories, manufacturing facilities or something like that.

Gemini told me this:

'In the context of manufacturing, some less common possibilities include:
A specific section within a larger factory (but this usage is not widespread).'

In that case, it may refer to production lines.

English term (edited): tabs (correct fabs)

fabrikationsenheder

Declined
The term "fab" is a commonly used abbreviation for a fabrication unit in the computer industry, so I'm guessing that there's a spelling misunderstanding in the source text? - i.e. it should be "fabs" but they spelled it "tabs"
Example sentence:

A fab works by following a series of intricate steps to produce semiconductors. It starts with designing the chip layout......

Det nye renrum bliver både en del af det nye tværfaglige Center for Kvanteteknologi, samt testcenter og fabrikationsenhed i det danske......

Note from asker:
That's what I thought, too, but tabs is indeed used multiple times. It is high-level court documents - no errors. What I can say is that the text is very American and I'm wondering if it's a newer 'smart/fancy' way of saying something in U.S. business lingo - but searches online have proven unsuccessful. I cannot use facilities, either, as facilities is used in the same sentence at times.
