Explanation Before I gave the credit to the answerer, I checked th google,a nd found a more popular translation of the term which I used for my translation. I did not totally agree with the answer provided by the answerer, you can see that from my note to her. What I used was "第二次欧洲及大洋洲研究组急性中风研究". She did enlighten me to get what I was looking for, that is why she was credited for the help.

I wonder who entered that into Wikipedia The translation would easily be understood as "Australia, latin America, ans WEST Asia". Is this what is meant by Australasian?

澳大拉西亚(Australasia)一般指大洋洲的地区,如澳大利亚,新西兰和邻近的太平洋岛屿。

Australasia一词是由法国学者布罗塞(Charles de Brosses)于1756年出版的《Histoire des navigations aux terres australes》一书中提出的,取自拉丁文,意思是“亚洲南部”,并将其区别自波利尼西亚(至东面)和东南太平洋(Magellanica)地区。也不包括密克罗西尼亚(至东北面.)
