gene expression 经常会译为“基因表现/达”，The gene expressed 在此可译为“（此）基因表现/达出...”。“携带”也是不错的处理，从语言功能上没有任何问题，但感觉“携（带）有”会更顺理成章些。并且，从专业上讲，从基因到病毒的生物过程是“表达”的过程，而非基因本身“携带”病毒。当然此处指的是携带有病毒（信息）单元。
