English term or phrase:
Hard Time
Arabic translation:
الصيانة حسب العمر الإفتراضي
English term
Hard Time
Hard Time (HT)
It is a primary maintenance process in which an item must be removed from service at or before a specified time in order to perform certain needed actions such as inspection or refurbishing.
On-Condition (OC)
It is a primary maintenance process that includes repeated inspections or tests to determine the condition of units, systems, or portions of structure with regard to continued serviceability.
When the item's condition requires it, corrective action is conducted.
For example, a hydraulic component may be checked on a regular basis to assess its internal leakage rate, but refurbishment is only necessary when the rate surpasses a certain threshold.
Condition-Monitored (CM)
It is a primary maintenance process under which data on the whole population of specified items in service is analyzed to indicate whether some allocation of technical resources is required.
It allows failures to occur and relies upon analysis of operating experience information to indicate the need for appropriate action.
It is not a preventive maintenance process and hence failure modes of condition-monitored items cannot have a direct adverse effect on operating safety.

When entering new questions, KudoZ askers are given an opportunity* to classify the difficulty of their questions as 'easy' or 'pro'. If you feel a question marked 'easy' should actually be marked 'pro', and if you have earned more than 20 KudoZ points, you can click the "Vote PRO" button to recommend that change.
How to tell the difference between "easy" and "pro" questions:
An easy question is one that any bilingual person would be able to answer correctly. (Or in the case of monolingual questions, an easy question is one that any native speaker of the language would be able to answer correctly.)
A pro question is anything else... in other words, any question that requires knowledge or skills that are specialized (even slightly).
Another way to think of the difficulty levels is this: an easy question is one that deals with everyday conversation. A pro question is anything else.
When deciding between easy and pro, err on the side of pro. Most questions will be pro.
* Note: non-member askers are not given the option of entering 'pro' questions; the only way for their questions to be classified as 'pro' is for a ProZ.com member or members to re-classify it.

HT – Hard Time Components
A component which is “HT” or “Hard Time” simply means the component has a defined life. It will be usually counted in Aircraft Hours or Aircraft Cycles (although may be calendar days). The limit will normally be defined by a manufacturer (OEM) and at this limit a defined action will be required such as overhaul or bench testing. This requirement is not affected by the components function or standard and is required regardless of condition.
