armour plate welder

Ik vraag me af of deze term in feite slaat op 'armour plate'.

Arc welding - fusion for welding of armour plate
By Gene Mathers
The welding processes which are used to weld armour plate have changed little in recent years. Submerged arc and MIG/MAG welding still predominate for the joining of both steel and aluminium alloy armour.

In addition to this basic training, Freeman attended a course in Armour Plate Welding from the 3rd to the 18th of May 1943 while serving with the R.C.E.M.E. in England.

Site welder or construction welder

There is no such thing as a reinforcement welder. This is a Dutch thing. Concrete reinforcement rarely requires welding, but if so, the welding is carried out by a "site welder" or "construction welder"

I have even known it to be performed by carpenters, bricklayers, labourers, or anyone else who is vaguely familiar with welding, as the degree of expertise required is minimal.
