Dutch term
halffabrikaat
Dutch to English
Bus/Financial
Manufacturing
export
I'm not happy about "semimanufactured article" - does anyone have a better suggestion?
Context: Nederland exporteert veel halffabrikaten naar Duitsland, waar er eindproducten van worden gemaakt.

Glossary: Semi-finished product
Products that have undergone some processing, but require further processing before they are ready for use. They may be sold to other manufacturers for further processing. Typical examples would include rough metal castings sold for finishing elsewhere.
Note: This is the definition as used in the NACE Rev. 1 explanatory notes. In other contexts the words may have a different meaning.

intermediate goods
Defined as goods (e.g. steel) and services that are used as inputs or components in the production of other goods. Deze term komt ook veel voor in overheidsstatistieken zoals op www.destatis.de/indicators/e/tkae220x.htm . Hieronder ook nog twee verwijzingen naar websites in Engeland en Nieuw-Zeeland.

: 'intermediate products' works particularly well if the term is juxtaposed with 'end products'.
