Dutch term

verhaal aanhouden aan

Dutch to English Law/Patents Law (general)
Dit wil zeggen dat XXX aan de betreffende uitkeringsinstantie het verhaal conform verzoek- en verweerschrift, zoals aangegeven in punt 1, aanhoudt.

'Punt 1', which preceeds this sentence, states that the contract of employment between the parties shall be dissolve; and that prior to filing, the draft petition and defence shall be presented to both parties for approval. XX shall co-operate with any unemployment-benefit application made by the client.

Am confused as to the meaning of verhaal (does it mean redress here?), and how it relates to aanhouden AAN. Any help gratefully (and urgently!) received.

From your description, it sounds like the sentence in question essentially rephrases part of the previous text (the part about cooperating in an application for unemployment benefits). I'd thus understand it to mean that with respect the UI agency, XXX (the former employer?) will comply with the tenor of the petition and defence documents.
