Dutch term

bijsteker

Dutch to English Other Botany plant/flower shops
Not much context for the actual term is given, but it has to do with supplies for plant and flower shops. The sentence this occurs in:

"Sinds 1980 actief en inmiddels uitgegroeid tot een specialist in het toeleveren van bloemisterijartikelen, ondergronden, decoraties, >>>bijstekers

Compare the English (stick pin) on that website with their Dutch (bijsteker): http://www.victory.nl/products_category.php?PRC_ID=140

Peer comment(s):

agree Chris Hopley : I think you need to include 'decorative' somewhere (cf. DE and FR versions of that site: Dekostecker / Décorations à planter), e.g. 'decorative plant stick'. Stickpin = dasspeld

@ Chris: Yes, I left out the 'decorative' because it was already mentioned before the term in question in a list. "(...), decoraties, bijstekers, en toebehoren (...)"
agree Oliver Pekelharing : plant stick

(I think it should be 'stick pin' instead.)
Note from asker:
Apparently they are items "on a stick" to be stuck alongside plants in the soil, purely decoratively. "Plant sticks" isn't exactly clear. that could be anything, from sticks made of plants to supporting sticks for the plants (which they aren't either)
