depending on your context really...

i've seen the term used for protential immigrants going to the new country to "check things out"
for example, my dad was on such "~{?<2lME~}" to see which Canadian cities we would like to move to prior to immigrating there. In that case i would translate it as an "orientation tour"

This is the term used in travel industry.

Or you may use Technical visit.
