I am proofreading a document about an acadmeic exchange program. This is the section where gender equality issues are being discussed. This is the paragraph:
The data collected from the development and results of the project will be the result of sex-disaggregated data of the participation of men and women, since the earlier promotion of the bases for participants.
I do not know this term, I do not know what it means, and I do not know whether it is right or wrong and if it needs to be corrected, and if so how?

The term is the opposite of aggregated, to lump together into one group. The statisics in your case present separate data for males and females for gender based analysis. See the following link as an example:

... retabulate existing data sets to produce sex-disaggregated databases that can be used with decision-support tools in agricultural and rural development policy formulation and planning. These retabulated data can serve as the basis for carrying out a gender analysis for a more in-depth understanding of agriculture and rural development. ...

"Disaggregated" is a newish term replacing "broken down" -- classifying as to male or female used to be expressed by "broken down by sex" till the wiseacres pointed out the double entendre.
