French term

feuille guitare

French to English Other Cooking / Culinary Chocolate
I know that this is a kind of plastic sheeting used to facilitate working with chocolate. My problem is that I am now 10,000 words into a translation where it has been used a few times and I have left it as is (the translation is I found "guitar sheet" on a Canadian website, but am not convinced. That sounds more like something you would find in a music store.
Oh, BTW, the translation is for a US readership.

Here is the exact context:

Tempérer la couverture, l’étendre à la spatule sur feuile papier guitare. S’assurer d’obtenir une finesse parfaite.Avant la cristallisation complète, découper à l’emporte-pièce rond uni d’un diamètre de 5 cm

dipping paper

This is what it is commonly called in the US. It's better than was paper, or other kinds of paper because it makes the chocolate shine. I took classes in chocolate making when I still lived in the US, and we used marble slabs in our class, but the teacher showed us dipping paper, and recommended it for home use since marble slabs are more costly, and many kitchens don't have the storage place for one.

4 KudoZ points awarded for this answer. Comment: "This is exactly what I needed. Preserving the gloss of the chocolate is very important in many of these recipes which I am translating."

acetate sheets

Hey Rònat,
A couple of sources I checked seem to recommend leaving it as is. In one, however, consisting of series of postings from chocolate amateurs, comes to the visual conclusion that they are actually acetate sheets. Go to the first link, do a serch for feuille and then scroll down to the picture.\Hope this helps; some links:
