Although "hautverträglich" sometimes occurs as "skin-compatible", "skin-incompatible" sounds even stranger. In some cases, I can reword it e.g. "trigger intolerance", but I'm looking for something which would work with these examples, and wondered if anyone knew the accepted term for "hautunverträglich"?

I think this is used more often in a medical, pharmaceutical context. But if you are using this for the general public, I would go with the previously suggested answer.
