German term

hautunverträglich / Hautunverträglichkeit

German to English Medical Textiles / Clothing / Fashion
"Test auf herauslösbare, zellgiftige und hautunverträgliche Substanzen"
"Hauttest zur Gewebeverträglichkeit für textile Medizinprodukte, antimikrobiell ausgerüstete Textilien und Textilien, die im Verdacht einer Hautunverträglichkeit stehen".
The text is talking about textiles which provoke allergic reactions in people with sensitive skin. Although "hautverträglich" sometimes occurs as "skin-compatible", "skin-incompatible" sounds even stranger. In some cases, I can reword it e.g. "trigger intolerance", but I'm looking for something which would work with these examples, and wondered if anyone knew the accepted term for "hautunverträglich"?

3 KudoZ points awarded for this answer. Comment: "Thanks everyone, lots of helpful ideas, but I think "skin irritants" is probably the best in this context."

allergans

I think this is used more often in a medical, pharmaceutical context. But if you are using this for the general public, I would go with the previously suggested answer.

There\'s no absolute need to find a noun, as you can reword the second example, e.g. \"suspected of being dermatologically active\"
