I am not absolutely certain on this, but I strongly suspect the mean the material joining the two sides of the housing in places where the crankshaft bearings are located.

Looking at a picture of a engine (2nd URL) or a parts list (1st URL) might help. It might not be a separate part, but the place on the crankcase where the 2 parts are bolted together, see picture.
I didn't find hits for crankcase bridge, but Br"ucke means bridge in many applications. Other possibilities as above. Hope this helps toward right track. Nancy
