Effectiveness of the agreement
Although financial close may work, it would not be appropriate as an undefined term in a legal agreement since its precise meaning is vague. For us "Effectiveness of the agreement" was the point in time that the agreement became binding on the parties which is normally after all conditions precedent have been met.
