effects of succession

In law, succession means to acquire the property or right of another person and to assume obligations thereof, either by contract, operation of law, death of the person succeeded, or other reasons. Because of the broad meaning of the term, it is generally considered to be the nearest equivalence to Jishou.

The language of the question is rather ambiguous, and I am only trying to figure out and do a literal translation.

繼受 can also be translated into \"derivative\" e.g. derivative acquisition 繼受取得, derivate title 繼受權利, etc. meaning \"received from another person who is the person of \'original acquisition\' 原始取得 or with original title 原始權利. In this sense, the term 繼受效力 can be translated literally into DERIVATIVE EFFECT, although the exact meaning of the Chinese original term is still not very clear.
