No need to qualify acceptance with incident/ relationship/fact of etc.

I agree and was using repudiation in that very sense to lead into the answer. You must have come across: repudiation/repudiatory breach of CONTRACT.

...would be my take on it (I don't have any legal dictionaries at hand, but this has to do with adoption or something similar - I think). :-)

I\'m not sure, but there might just be a special legal word for this type of \"adoption\"...

disaffirmance of an adoption or vitiation of an adoption

I am positive that this is what it's about. If you use the term "adoption," you don't need relationship.

The expression means that there has been an adoption or that an adoption has been in progress, and that an attempt is underway to nullify , abrogate, disaffirm, or vitiate the action or actions.
