Cleanliness Testing of Factory Departments
Not a lot of context this time; it appears in a list of departments in a factory that are being tested for their cleanliness. The full line is:
"Montage / Kippanker"
So I guess this is the department where the "Kippanker" are assembled.
Does anyone know what a Kippanker would be called in English? Tilt anchor? Tipping anchor? TIA for your help.

German term (edited):
Kippanker / Klappanker
Selected
clapper relay
Also 'clapper-type relay'.
I believe the German should be 'Klappanker'.
Cleanliness during the assembly of relays makes more sense that for anchors.
See ref. for description + picture.

I have just found another possibility in the text for a display unit:
\"Aufbaukörper mit Maske und Kippanker für 5 Dots
Signalfarbe gelb, Hintergrund schwarz
5 Spulen, je 75 Ω +15%\"
See www.annax.de/pdfANNAX Komponenten.pdf
\"Each matrix element is controlled by a mini electric motor. A momentary flow of current magnetizes the armature and turns the reflective surface of the element in or out depending upon the direction of current flow.\"
See www.itsdocs.fhwa.dot.gov/JPODOCS/REPTS_TE/2V$01!.PDF
From this, I suggest you simply say \"Armature assembly\" for Kippanker-Montage.

Comment: "To be honest, I still have no idea what this thing is, but I have to deliver the job, so it's time to make a final decision. I know this much: the text I'm doing, cryptic though it is in places, has nothing to do with shipping, so I think Rod's answer can be ruled out, though I appreciate his efforts. Which leaves John and his theory that Kippanker is really Klappanker and means "clapper relay". It's all I've got to go on, so I'll use it, but with the disclaimer that I haven't got the foggiest idea what the word really means. But I don't think the client can grizzle too much when they use such obscure words with such little context.
Just one last question: did my added note trigger any additional thoughts on the possible meaning of this word? Please share them if so! Thanks again for at least attempting to solve this very strange word."

folding fluke anchor
I did some proof-reading FR>EN on this topic a while back, let me see if I can find it . . .

Rowan - I dug out the article: the three basic types of anchor are stocked, ploughshare and flat. The last-named must be what they are referring to with Kippanker. The flukes (such is their name) fold flat i.e. parallel to the shaft for storage, but on the bottom they tilt down and dig themselves into the sand/mud/gravel/whatever they find. Sorry I can\'t offer any more light!

Discussion
Reinraum / Werkbank
Reinraum
Elektronikfertigung
Brogebude
Erstverpackung
Sonderventilwerkstatt
Montage
In Factory 2, the departments are:
Reinraum
Verpackaung / am Reinraum
Montage / Systemhaus
Montage / ***Kippanker***
In Factory 3, we have:
Packraum
Reinraumschleuse
Montage
Reinraum
Top Controll
Then the document jumps to Factory 6, which has:
Qualittssicherung
Schweiarbeitspltze
The context is nothing to do with shipping, despite the Kippanker. I do have a page saying what the company seems to specialise in. Here's a little list:
Feinmechanik
Leiterplattenfertigung
Lackiertechnik
Medizintechnik
Implantate
Optische Bauelemente
Mikrosystemtechnik
Mikroelektronik
So it's clearly not a marine-type anchor. Consequently, I'm leaning very much to John's answer at the moment. Hopefully this additional context (such as it is) might inspire someone afresh.
Would be nice if some other people would have a go here.
