Binge eating: eating enormous quantities of food, typically food high in calories. Binging in total secrecy, then attempts to reverse the effects by purging.

PURGING BEHAVIORS AND SYMPTOMS

Purging: Most often method used, self-induced vomiting. Other methods, high doses of laxatives.

Purpose of purging: releasing tension. The purging is the most harmful because of side effects but it also hides that binging is going on, therefore it continues.
