context: a research article on the social and economic history of the Canuts (silk-weavers) in Lyon in the 19th century (I'm proofreading the English written by a French person)
sentence: "the gendered operations of the Lyon dispersed manufacture (Fabrique) are well recorded here in the masculine form for the loom assemblers and in the feminine form for the unwinder (dévideuse) and the XXX (remetteuse). ... Dévideur: Ouvrier qui met le fil ou la soie en peloton ou en écheveau, voir Fileuse de lin.
Donneur: Ouvrier qui prépare et règle (monter) les métiers à tisser, aussi appelé Remetteur.

Might anyone know of a good glossary or English-language article on these trades where I could find what "remetteur" is called in English?
