apparati

The term "apparati" is found in a catalogue for an exhibition on archaeology, the Etruscans (to be precise). It introduces a few short additional sections that do not form part of the main text and the descriptions of the individual artefacts on display, but which supplement them. The "Apparati" section includes a few short back-up documents eg a timeline, a summary-description of the various sections of the exhibition itself (ie exhibition itinerary), etc.

apparatuses
Apparatuses provide the scientific references upon which the
exhibition rests, and they can be a starting point to delve further into the
topic at hand. They are generally targeted at a specialized audience,
and include:
• indexes
• thematic bibliographies
• thematic website indexes
• filmographies
• chronologies
• sources
• glossaries (related to topics, places, people, etc.)
• lists of results obtained by accessing databases
• publications.

Note from asker:
Thanks very much. I'm aware of this use, but prefer to steer clear of it for my purposes because it's too scholarly. I've chosen "Additional Sections", in an effort not to alienate the general reader. But thanks for the quality of your response (and that of others). |

Kate Chaffer
: I'd use the singular though. https://www.oxfordreference.com/display/10.1093/oi/authority...

: I'd prefer the singular too, in most cases. Still, I'd like to see the whole of the material, before deciding.

For me the translation closest to the meaning of sections.
Note from asker:
Hi, thanks for your answer. I've never seen "array" used like this before, and am sceptical. I don't think it works. But thanks again! |

If you are new to Proz, by the way, you may wish to explore a bit; "ProZ.com term search — search translation glossaries and dictionaries" (and previous Kudoz questions) - https://www.proz.com/?sp=ksearch -, for instance, can often give, at the very least, some good pointer.
Please could we have the Italian context - what exactly does your source document say?.
One meaning of 'apparati' is displays - I don't know if that works here.
