Spanish term

razón de autenticación

Spanish to English Law/Patents Law (general) authentication
Hi, I am translating an authentication of a police clearance certificate issued in Costa Rica, and I have an idea of how to translate a term, but I am not sure if there is already an english equivalent for such term. Below an excerpt of the source text:

Advertencias de nulidad y validez: Si este folio es desprendido de los folios adjuntos, o los sellos de esta Dirección que serven de liga o unión con dicho folio se encentran "rotos" o alterados, la **razón de autenticación** queda automáticamente anulada. El presente trámite de legalización de firma no implica convalidación, ni prejuzga la legalidad, validez, eficacia, autenticidad o legitimidad del documento adjunto ni de su contenido....

razón de autenticación > purpose of authentication?

Is there a more appropriate translation for such term?

In advance, thanks a lot!

Spanish term (edited): razón
Selected

legal validity

The razón is the (intangible) legal validity of the (tangible) document (the certificate).

In English, the entire phrase would normally be rendered differently, without making the intangible/tangible distinction of the Spanish. For example:

the authentication shall be automatically considered as null and void.
or
this certificate shall be automatically be deemed void.
