"Yearning" in English is translated into Albanian as "mall." It's not a common word in English that the satisfaction of the yearning; therefore, some have used in poetry only and in literature (example link below) as "to extinguish it", meaning "shuaj" "shuaj mallin." The letter Ç which in Albanian has the meaning to dismiss or break down is substituted with the synonym "shuaj."

Another example for "mall" is "longing" but somehow has an added meaning of a strong desire. To quench (shuaj etjen) a longing could be used poetically since it is a metaphor. To satiate a longing means to fully satisfy a longing, meaning kinda like "Çmall" but stronger, to be happy also with the "Çmall."
