In a novel. A woman is elegantly dressed for a party. I found 'guaina' but I don't like it.

Before xxx could move his tightly pressed lips, the woman she had seen the other night approached. Her elegant green silk gown made xxx feel dowdy in her white muslin. A thin *sheath* covered the bodice of Miss xxx’s dress, delicately painted with golden flowers. Her hair was artfully curled and several feathers in matching green were tucked into it.

......... Il suo elegante abito di seta verde fece sentire xxx dimessa nella sua mussola bianca. Una sottile *guaina* copriva il corpetto dell'abito della signorina xxx, delicatamente dipinta con fiori dorati. I suoi capelli erano arricciati ad arte e vi erano infilate diverse piume dello stesso colore di verde.
