@ Asker Looks to me that it's a word play, as Charlotte said
on both "twosome" [...]and "terrible two's"

If not that, well then, it's just 2 people/a pair but not necessarily a couple
Charlotte Fleming Feb 28, 2022:
Yes, the hyphen is irrelevant - I was merely making the point that I was spelling it without the hyphen as that is more normal.
Tony M Feb 28, 2022:
@ Asker In essence, it means a 'duo'; but because we have the humorous expression in EN 'Terrible Twins', the writer has attempted to copy the alliteration; I think the hyphen is a red herring, as all the other examples I can think of with '-some' dispense with it in modern usage: threesome, etc.
In EN we quite like this alliterative kind of epithet, cf. the books by children's author Enid Blyton about the 'Famous Five'.
Mohamed Fouda (asker) Feb 28, 2022:
@Charlotte Fleming Thank you! That's how it is written, 'Terrible Two-Some'.
Charlotte Fleming Feb 28, 2022:
The "terrible two's" is an expression for small children who (usually around 2 years old) have tantrums and generally start to make life difficult for their parents. So this seems to be a pun on both "twosome" (it's more commonly written without the hyphen) and "terrible two's". Without context, it's hard to be more specific.

Thanks! In this episode, there are two villains who cause trouble to the city and the pJs. There are also two out of three PJs who get in trouble by a villain. Not sure what exactly the title refers to.
ATIL KAYHAN Feb 28, 2022:
Two-some simply means any two people. However, these two people are not necessarily a couple (of opposite sex) but they can be.
