Swedish term

typ

Non-PRO Swedish to English Bus/Financial Business/Commerce (general)
Sverige skulle sätta in 150 miljoner SEK, typ "in kind", från svensk sida för att stimulera både etablerandet av instrumenten och svensk kunnande.

Does this just translate as "in kind" even though it doesn't really mean anything as cash is cash?

Alan Dickey (X) (asker) Nov 29, 2021:
Yes it is. 18,000 words of gibberish. Missing verbs, missing subjects, paragraphs with 20 conjunctions etc.
Chris Says Bye Nov 23, 2021:
There are lots of errors in the Swedish you've been posting, including here (svensk should be svenskt), and even when it's not wrong it's appalling writing

more or less

I don't quite see it as "so to speak" as MSEK 150 is not being used in an unusual way. I think it's more a question of the amount not being precise, down to the last Kronor, hence my suggestion.
Peer comment(s):

neutral Chris Says Bye : I think it would then be typ 150 miljoner kronor

so to speak

It's an (informal) interjection that just means 'so to speak', or 'as in', something like that.

sort of

Another suggestion, instead of "so to speak", which, in my opinion, fits and sounds better.
I agree that "typ" can also mean "more or less", but I wouldn't translate it in that way for a given context.
Peer comment(s):

agree Agneta Pallinder : "sort of" is as lazy an interjection as "typ" - fits well.

Tack så mycket, Agneta!

[omit]

I suggest leave it out. There is the explanation in English "in kind", which can be left in with the quotation marks to cover a multitude of sins, including the poor writing others have mentioned.
