Hi all, from what I gather, older organs weren't hydraulic and therefore there was a need for these "alzamantici"... any idea what the term would be in English?

bellows lifters
A pipe organ required that an organist to play must also have a bellows lifter, while an organist for a concert could be accompanied by several bellows lifters.
Bellows are a fundamental part of the organ. Now they function as simple engine support tanks and pressure stabilizers, but in ancient times they were one of the most cared for parts of the organ as the only source of wind production.
