Of the 219 secondary schools included in today's data, 72 schools have moved up at least one band, while 71 schools have fallen at least one band.
“I have made a clear commitment to raising standards and performance in schools in Wales, improving levels of literacy and numeracy and reducing the impact of poverty on educational attainment. Mr Andrews said advances in results in core subjects of schools ranked in the lowest bands - four and five - represented a "significant achievement".

What Is the Role of Attainment Banding in Promoting Pupils’ Progress in Mathematics?
The definition of banding is dividing the year group into bands differentiated by ability. Within each band, the pupils are grouped depending on ability or size. Setting can be used to group pupils in bands according to their ability in a subject as defined by HM inspectors of schools (HM Inspectors of Schools, 1979). For this literature review, it will be assumed that setting is used within bands.
Ball (Ball, 1981) research found that banding resulted in an increase in behavioural issues which resulted in disruptions in lessons of moderate attainment groups as teachers found difficulty in maintaining control, meanwhile low attainment groups had less behavioural problems. The behavioural problems that teachers had with mixed attainment banding was because they were not differentiating between mixed attainment teaching and mixed attainment banding which influenced the link between behaviour and grouping rather than the teaching style. The mixed attainment banding teaching style required a different teaching syllabus to attainment banding to ensure that every pupil regardless of attainment levels feels their educational needs are met which was attained by the use of worksheets. Mixed attainment banding improved behaviour but the hierarchy of pupils’ attainment across the bands was the same as the attainment banding. However, as this research is more than 30 years old, it does not provide the full accurate differences between attainment banding mixed attainment banding.

Waarbij er een attainment band voor goals , RMR en E&L zou zijn.
Een 'attainment band' zou dan vertaald kunnen worden met 'prestatiecategorie'.
Verkopers worden afgerekend (ook letterlijk, bonussen e.d.) op in hoeverre ze hun afspraken met betrekking tot hun doelen (goals), RMR en E&L (me niet helemaal duidelijk wat deze categorie betekent) hebben waargemaakt.
De resultaten m.b.t. de attainment bands zouden dan worden gewogen op basis van de prestaties m.b.t. de afgesproken doelen, afgesproken MRM en afgesproken E&L.
Aan het begin van het jaar worden er afspraken gemaakt over verwachtingen waaraan een medewerker (verkoper) moet voldoen, in het kader van performance management.
Je kunt dan aan het eind van het jaar uitkomen op:
niet aan de verwachtingen voldaan
onvoldoende aan de verwachtingen voldaan
aan de verwachtingen voldaan
de verwachtingen overtroffen
In dit geval zou je dan 4 uitkomstmogelijkheden per 'attainment band' hebben.
Bij zijn vorige vraag ging het ook om een ongebruikelijk begrip, maar toen vond hij verderop in zijn tekst zoiets als een definitie ervan.
Misschien gaat dat nu weer gebeuren. :-)
