SOP specifications
Within the SOP for manufacture of a pharmaceutical product, the term KST (e.g. KST 124 or KST 182) appears throughout, including in the header, listing the company name under "Betrieb" and 124/182 in the column headed by "KST"
Is this abbreviation general or specific to the facility?

German term (edited):
KST - Kostenstelle
cost centre/center
"KST" (or "KSt.") is frequently used to refer to a "Kostenstelle" (cost centre/center) in the accounting/finance sense. Could this be it?

Note from asker:
Yes, I had thought of that, but it doesn't seem to fit here. This SOP is a manufacturing instruction and various steps in the production are completed either at KST 164 or KST 182, for example. Cost center would not make sense here. |

Heureka!
Wieder mal viel Übersetzungszeit gespart.

Konstruktionsstückliste - wahrscheinlich CPL in EN

SOP + KST
A standard operating procedure (SOP) is a set of step-by-step instructions compiled by an organization to help workers carry out routine operations. SOPs aim to achieve efficiency, quality output and uniformity of performance, while reducing miscommunication and failure to comply with industry regulations.
:
Clinical research and practiceEdit
In clinical research, the International Council for Harmonisation (ICH) defines SOPs as "detailed, written instructions to achieve uniformity of the performance of a specific function". SOPs usually get applied in pharmaceutical processing and for related clinical studies. There the focus is always set on repeated application of unchanged processes and procedures and its documentation, hence supporting the segregation of origins, causes and effects. Further application is with triage, when limited resources get used according to an assessment on ranking, urgence and staffing possibilities.[3] Study director is mainly responsible for SOPs. The Quality Assurance Unit are individuals who are responsible for monitoring whether the study report and tests are meeting the SOP. SOPs can also provide employees with a reference to common business practices, activities, or tasks. New employees use a SOP to answer questions without having to interrupt supervisors to ask how an operation is performed. The international quality standard ISO 9001 essentially requires the determination of processes (documented as standard operating procedures) used in any manufacturing process that could affect the quality of the product.[4]

BTW: The term 'KST' is no identifier of any instruction, but an item number for devices and plants used in production. Complete reading leads to a more eager understanding of the interrelationships. To find out the details, one should have the necessary prerequisites and technical background, especially when it comes to quality management, and have studied ISO 9000 in depth. I can say that about myself. Otherwise you won't find the needle in the haystack.
But it is also possible that this alphanumeric code has nothing to do with the production step or machinery.
Please bear in mind that pharmaceutical products are made in batches.
Did you already ask the client for explanation?
Once section of the document is entitled "Synthesebetrieb KST 124". Another section reads: "1.5.1 Arbeiten bzgl. KST 124
Kampagnenvorbereitung gemäss Kapitel 3.4 durchgeführt, siehe auch Rüstprotokoll"
Another section about process risks reads:
IN thé German Wikipedia article I also found the phrase 'Die Messungen werden zeilenweise in eine Matrix („k-Raum“) eingetragen'. Not seen on the English page.
I this the KST you are looking for?
