Spanish term

cola

@Toby (Hi Toby, long time no see!). Due to lack of space in the answer box, I´m posting the full link here to the explanation I provided to Amanda´s reply. I believe she´s right. If there´s something more specific than "voiceover" for "colas" in English, it´s unknown to me.

And here another glossary of broadcasting terms:

I was also thinking of "stand-up" as a possible option, but no, I believe "voiceover" is on the right track. Best of luck.

And by the way, "voice-over" should be the right spelling of the term rather than the non-hyphenated version I normally use :-(

agree Toni Castano : Official definition of "cola" by the Spanish national broadcaster TVE: COLAS: Emisión de noticias en las que el presentador introduce su voz en directo desde el estudio mientras se emiten las imágenes.. I think "voiceover" fits. "

agree Toni Castano : Correct definition. I think, "voiceover" is okay (unless there´s something more "technical").
