Spanish term

costero

Spanish to English Tech/Engineering Materials (Plastics, Ceramics, etc.) costero
Hola:

estoy buscando la traducción de este término. He encontrado esta definición:

No.

There's a diagram showing a costero on page 85 here, though I'm not sure what you'd call it in English. And I agree with Ramón that context would be useful.

slabwood / slab wood

Slab wood is the bark edge of a log and according to the dictionary (link below) the outside piece cut from a log in squaring it.

From Professor Gene Wengert, forum technical advisor:
Indeed, the slab is the piece of wood that is rounded on one side or face and sawn on the other... the first piece sawn off the face of a log. However, you can appreciate that the word also has other meanings outside of the lumber industry and one meaning is a huge hunk, like a slab of concrete or a slab of meat. With this idea, it is easy to envision how someone that is new to the wood industry might see a flitch (or maybe even a cant) and call it a slab of wood.

Also, according to the AN ENGLISH-SPANISH GLOSSARY OF TERMINOLOGY USED IN FORESTRY, RANGE, WILDLIFE, FISHERY, SOILS, AND BOTANY publicado por el Departamento de Agricultura de los Estados Unidos en 1988 "Slab" es "Costero".

coastal (bark strips)

I can't find any other meaning of 'costero'. The description given is about "each one of both pieces closest to the outer part , and which come out on sawing a trunk in the direction of its length."
