NB: which is the most appropriate term"ancillary aircraft" or "aircraft ancillaries"

chris collister Apr 16, 2020:
@ asker At the risk of stating the obvious, "bleed air" is "bled" from one or both of the engine compressors. The Wiki ref. below is pretty good. Note that this high pressure air is used not just for cabin ventilation but also for cooling and driving pneumatic motors. EN generally assumes that the "servitudes", ie. ancillary systems are taken as read, so just "bleed air" is sufficient. If it bothers you, add "for aircraft ancillaries".

air de servitudes avion Dans la mesure où il s'agit de cette expression, à quoi correspond votre remarque ?
Tony M Apr 16, 2020:
@ Asker This word order inversion is very common between FR and EN, a real trap for the unwary!
In this instance, it couldn't really be 'ancillary aircraft' — not least because 'servitude' wouldn't really be used for 'ancillary' used as an adjetcive in that way.

aircraft bleed air

... pour refroidir l’air de servitudes avion 26 prélevé sur un compresseur haute pression.

... for cooling aircraft bleed air 26 taken from a high pressure compressor (HPC).

Note from asker:
disagree as "bleed air" means "air de prélèvement " in this field

Thank you, Chris.
neutral philgoddard : I don't know if the asker is right to disagree, but your Wikipedia reference does link to "prélèvement d'air moteur", and you haven't given any French references.

aircraft service air

The context here seems to be the portion of bleed air actually being delivered to the cabin, rather than the sum total of bleed air output.

Patent: Compressed air delivered by a gas turbine consisting of a transformed turbocharger
Assignee: Cornut, Ets S. A. (FR)

The English summary of the original French patent:
"The air passing through the turbocompressor and cleaned by its centrifugal compressor stage (3) is divided, with one part going through its turbine (2) and the other to a pressurised service tank..." (or reservoir, by my own interpretation)
