In engineering, science, and statistics, replication is the repetition of an experimental condition so that the variability associated with the phenomenon can be estimated. ASTM, in standard E1847, defines replication as "the repetition of the set of all the treatment combinations to be compared in an experiment. Each of the repetitions is called a replicate."

Doświadczenie porównawcze rodów i odmian rumianku pospolitego [Chamomilla recutita (L.) Rauchert] o podwyższonej zawartości alfa-bisabololu. Cz. 2
In the second part of the comparison experiment quality of raw material and seeds yield of strains and varieties were evaluated. The results shows that the raw material of new-bred strains contains more a-bisabolol than Polish varieties. The results also confirmed that investigated strains belong to chemotype C of chamomile. The strains were also rich in essential oil.

What is a replicate?
Replicates are multiple experimental runs with the same factor settings (levels). Replicates are subject to the same sources of variability, independently of each other. You can replicate combinations of factor levels, groups of factor level combinations, or entire designs.
