Espero que puedan ayudarme con la siguiente expresión al español: “pitting”, relacionada con un molino rotatorio. Muchas gracias:

“Initial pitting may be present when a pair of gears is first started in service, and may continue only to the stage when local high spot have been reduced,, so there is sufficient area of contact to carry the load without further impairment. This kind of pitting is not necessarily serious, and is corrective and non-progressive.”
