drilling fluid is usually referred to as mud or drilling mud, they are often used interchangeably; so 钻井液密度 is not wrong, but it should only apply in the case of drilling operation; however, in may cases, drill pipes, sometimes tubing, connected with BHA (bottom-hole-assembly) in a well are not involved in drilling as in a well intervention operation; so the term "泥浆" would be preferable as everyone on a rig site knows what it is. If you are sure it's a drilling operation, you can safely say "钻井液" as it sounds like a term in formal text and "泥浆" is just a word that everybody uses, more like a jargon.

And there's not need to translate the unit "ppg" because it's a generally accepted unit in rig site in China.
