English to Spanish Marketing Internet, e-Commerce In-house instructions for e-commerce company
Hi! I came across this segment "The seller has submitted Product Packaging Picture for topicals document." in what seems to be a guide for employees of an e-commerce company.

All along the document I get this formulae: "the seller has submitted (XYXYXYXYX) document". Maybe i'm burned out buy I'm out of ideas of what topicals may mean in this context.

Any ideas? Thanks!

@Martin what do they sell?

Hola, puede que la pista de Taña sobre Amazon sea la acertada. Parece que Amazon debe autorizar la venta de determinados productos: Help / Gestión de inventario / Consultar los requisitos de categoría / Categorías y productos sujetos a autorización

Ejemplo:

"I am third party seller for Health and Beauty. Just now received this warning from Amazon.

Dear Seller,
You are receiving this message because you are currently offering one or more Topical products for sale on Amazon, or you have offered the products for sale in the past.

The information described below affects your ability to sell these products on Amazon.com.

As part of our ongoing efforts to provide the best possible customer experience, we are implementing requirements to sell Topical products. Effective December 8, 2017, you will need approval to sell Topicals. If you do not obtain approval, your Topical products will be removed. There is no fee associated with this application.
[...]
To apply for approval submit an application for an ASIN within Topicals by following the steps below:
In Seller Central, go to Inventory > Add a Product.
Run a search for the item you wish to sell.
In the search results, click the ‘Listing limitations apply’ link for the item.
Click the ‘Request approval’ button to begin the application process.
[...]
Now what should we do? They are asking for following document which we can not provide as we are not manufacturer. Any suggestion?

I am approved for Beauty and Personal Care, but when I create a listing for Skin Care, It let me create the listing but cannot let me edit any info. after been created. When I press EDIT, It takes me to the screen where my product is displayed… message "You need approval for topical products" is displayed. Can someone please suggest what subcategory to use under beauty in order to be away from topical products error when creating a listing?

There really isn’t a way around this - if it’s applied to human skin, it’s a topical product. Amazon has hoops to be jumped through in this regard for a very valid reason - the exposure to litigation is both vast and wide.

The heyday of get-rich-quick beauty creams and other topical products attracted scads of sellers, and not all of them were ethical, which caused Amazon untold heartache. The locking down of these categories to exclude problematic products and sellers is Amazon’s response, and if you’re determined to bring your product to the Amazon Marketplace, you’ll find no recourse save providing what Amazon requires.

Go to the product classifier:
https://sellercentral.amazon.com/listing/classify
Click on Beauty… It will then break it down to sub categories. Then those sub categories break down even more.

LORENA IS CORRECT, and you need to state the type of product that this e-commerce company is selling. @ Martin, please provide the information we need to help you.

"The seller has submitted Product Packaging Picture for topicals document." This does not make too much sense without further context. "Topicals" and "document" coupled with "picture" does not compute. What is a "topicalS document"? Unless the author wanted to say ""The seller has submitted (a) Product Packaging Picture for a document on topicals",(?) and even this rendering does not make too much sense (and I wrote that part). All in all, IMO, what you have in front of you to translate is so poorly worded, if in fact, it relates to "topical medications".

For example, Amazon has this "Topical Approval" stuff (there are requirements (documents to be submitted), apparently, which need to be met before sellers or resellers can get permission to sell their products on Amazon):

You seem to have the most knowledge on this important topic. I’m a new seller preparing my listing, and documents for topical approval. I want to be sure that I have everything accounted for to avoid a rejection. I sourced my skincare products from a foreign cosmetics producer (which produces products for other Amazon sellers), which provided the necessary GMP and FDA files to me. The products are under my brand so my company is identified as the distributor on my products. But the foreign cosmetics producer is obviously listed on the GMP and FDA documents. Based on my reading of these posts, is Amazon rejecting new sellers, like me, if our company is not identified on the certification documents?
