Помогите, пожалуйста, перевести timeout в следующем контексте:

Fault #5 has always been detected with zero length. This means that the fault was too long and caused a timeout that leads to the output of zero length. When looking at the photograph of this fault in the top view one can see a dark line expanding to the left and right from the centre of the fault. This feature especially the elevated line to the right may have caused this timeout.
