Spanish term

agente auxiliar

Spanish to English Other Law (general)
In a request for legal assistance to obtain child support in El Salvador (at the Procuraduría General de la República, part of Ministerio Público).

"Desde ya solicita la asistencia legal para que se le nombre un agente auxiliar para que en su nombre promueva en el juzgado de familia que corresponda las diligencias correspondientes."

I've seen it translated simply as "agent", but I wonder if there's a more precise way of expressing the "auxiliar" bit.
Into U.S. English.

Based on the link provided by Lorena (thank you), I think this is just the term used to describe members of the institution in question (public defenders who file legal proceedings). Still unable to come up with anything better than "agent" though. Not sure we could use "court-appointed..."/"guardian ad litem" as the person is not appointed by a court as such but rather the Procuraduría General of San Salvador, which in El Salvador "se encarga de ejercer la defensa técnica a los procesados ante los tribunales de Justicia". Or could that still be classified as a court?

Court-appointed representative/agent or maybe a guardian ad litem?

@Joshua If experience with Mexican terminology is anything to go by, I think Lorena's reference is a good bet here. For example, in Mexico, "agente" in this context usually refers to an official law-enforcement figure, as in "agente del ministerio público", etc., not an agent of a private party, which is usually a "representante legal" or "apoderado", or even, per Neil, "gestor", but rarely ever, as far as I can recall, an "agente". I can't speak for El Salvador terminology though.

= Gestor IMHO it's just an agent, unless you fancy oddball options like factotum or go-between...
