Italian term

QPE

Italian to English Medical Medical (general)
This is in a list of blood chemistry results:

In fact I'm not sure what the entire phrase 'QPE con componente monoclonale in zona gamma' means but I'm hoping once I know what QPE stands for I'll have a lightbulb moment!
If it helps the patient is (or has been) taking an investigational monoclonal antibody treatment.
Thanks

Serum protein electrophoresis

QPE stands for Quadro Proteico Elettroforetico (as suggested by dandamesh)

As you can read in the reference, with the electrophoresis is possible to draw a graph of the different serum proteins (albumin and alpha, beta, gamma globulins).

This is the usual normal graph

Whereas, if you have a spike in the gamma-globulins regions, this is called "M band in gamma region" (banda monoclonale or componente monoclonale), like this one

Thanks - that definitely makes sense in this context.
