This comes from a Vermittlungsvertrag - and is there any better translation for vermittlungsvertrag than "brokerage agreement"?

edith / david the boat is to be sold and the agreement is between the broker and the current owner of the boat, not the buyer, so I guess "Brokerage Agreement" still works?? And David, thanks, you must own a boat...er, vessel.

brokerage would mean that the contract is with the broker
agency that the contract is with the owner

Asker, with your added note, you can say Brokerage Agreement. The website gives you a brokerage agreement in the English language

Sales Agreement

and how about "Owner of the vessel to be placed"?
Not sure the owner himself would look benignly on a description of his vessel (a yacht? a cabin cruiser?) as a boat....

Hiring agreement would be a possibility if the vessel is not to be sold; but to me, \"brokerage\" suggests sale, rather than hire or lease.

I think, in a nautical context it is 'ships's agent' not broker.

So Vermittlungsvertrag would be 'contract of agency service'

I am not sure how to put "Eigner des zu vermittelnden Bootes" in english. I guess placed would be the most neutral term.

Boat owner? Current owner?

I would be tempted to get around it - even "owner of said vessel", or "current owner of same" as its a contract? Not sure of the context, but these might help if you need some synonyms!
